inner feelings and moods. It is a testimony to his spiritual life and his views of the world. Simply stated, each artist portrays in his work primarily himself.
The real artist approaches his work with humility and not with desire of admiration of himself due to his work. He aspires
to imprint his work with a spiritual aspect. This doesn’t mean just devoutness but also and foremost completeness leading naturally to understanding and celebration of Him, who is indefinable, overshadowing, yet so close and dear to us.
Him, who created all that is good and beautiful, who created us – the culmination of his work – in His image.
You will recognize Vá
clav Česák’s long journey he underwent as a man and a sculptor to achieve this goal in all his work.
I trust that through his sculptures you will be able to discover traces of God’s beauty within us, around us…
